Cloudways has seemingly benefited the Cloud industry by bringing forth innovation and ease in the world of Managed Cloud Hosting. Our continuous efforts are focused on providing customer excellence to our users across the world.
As you all know, the Public Beta version of the Cloudways Platform 2.0 has been in the buzz since its launch, back in May 2016. Being a major revamp, we kept it in the Beta phase until we made it stable and were sure that our users were onboard with the new Platform. For that purpose, we went out and kept on improving the platform based on all the feedback we had been receiving from our users.
Now, after integrating and improving 150+ features inside the Platform, we have finally decided to make the Cloudways 2.0 as the default Platform.
After 4 months of public beta testing, it is time to say goodbye to the old platform! Yes, we are finally retiring the old platform. It is going away to play Pokémon Go.
At this point, it merits to provide an introduction.
Creating Cloudways 2.0
Initially, we started with a simple design and were not sure whether such a big change will be the right thing to do. We had questions like whether our users will be able to adapt to the new changes? Will they like it or not? We had the fear of the unknown.
So in order to eradicate such fears, we didn’t implement the design directly and launched a private beta. The access to this private beta was provided to a controlled audience which incorporated industry influencers and some of our trusted customers back in April 2016.
Amazingly, we were surprised to see the encouraging feedback from our beta testers because we weren’t expectation such a welcome for this defining change. They simply loved the UI, the responsive design and to our astonishment, they even liked the new features that we embedded into Cloudways 2.0.
Their responses gave us the courage to take the new beta version of Cloudways 2.0 live. However, we didn’t make it a permanent shift. Instead, we placed a button on our platform console under “Public Beta”, so users can easily shift between the two versions of Cloudways.
In the last 2 months, we learned how the Cloudways 2.0 console is gaining much more fame as compared to the old one and till today, we have gathered enough approvals from our users to make the new Platform of Cloudways 2.0 default.
Here’s The Difference
While the old-school Cloudways was good at functionality, the new iteration has been built to make everything better. We have listed 4 good reasons for using Cloudways 2.0.

- Cloudways added 2 additional features: Teams and Projects with granular controls.
- The new Platform offers users a responsive design; such a design that can easily fit any type of device that you are using, whether it be your laptop, desktop, tablets, or smartphones.
