How to Climb Tiers, Unlock More Benefits, and Shape What Comes Next

Whether you’re already a Cloudways customer or just exploring the program, this will give you a full picture of how to make it work for your agency.
How Tier Movement Works
The program is built around your monthly hosting spend.
By default, this is based on your main Cloudways account. Spend from other clients or referred accounts can be included only after manual activation via your Partnership Manager or the Support Team.
Tier Criteria Overview:

Your tier is calculated based on the combined spend of:
- Your agency’s main Cloudways account
- You can add client and referred account spend (where you have team member access), but this requires manual activation. (Conditions apply)
Note: To include additional spending from referred or client accounts, contact your Partnership Manager or the Customer Success Team to activate tracking. This is not included by default and must be enabled manually.
This structure allows you to scale naturally, without needing to force everything under one login.
Automatic Upgrades and Downgrades
- Tier Upgrade: When your spend crosses into the next tier, your status upgrades immediately, with no waiting period.
- Tier Downgrade: If your spend drops below your current tier for two consecutive months, you’ll be moved down starting the third month.
Your dedicated partnership manager (starting from Silver) can also confirm your tier movement or help if the spend data from referred accounts hasn’t been tracked correctly.
Unlocking Growth Bonuses
If your agency moves up a tier within a specific time window after joining, you’ll receive hosting credits as a growth bonus. These are real credits applied to your invoices, not coupons or one-time discounts.

You don’t need to apply. If your upgrade qualifies, the bonus is triggered automatically. Credits are applied across your invoices in increments (20% at a time).
