Meetups are an essential part of the WooCommerce community and allow people to learn new things and engage with all those who are a part of the community. And as WooCommerce users increase in numbers, these meetups are seeing a rise in numbers as well around the globe.
We at Cloudways always try our best to help people in these communities by sponsoring such meetups. In that spirit, we proudly sponsored the 7th WooCommerce Lima Meetup which was held on 18th February 2020.
Let’s take a look at some of its highlights.
Agenda of the Meetup
The main agenda of the meetup was sharing the experience of using WooCommerce with the community. Two topics were discussed with two speakers.
1 ) Topic: Start with your own Virtual Store – (An introduction to the design, configuration, and deployment of your own eCommerce server).
Speaker: Edgardo Tupiño
2) Topic: Meet Pagadesfter – The new way to pay
> Speaker: Cristina Rubio
The topics were quite interesting and discussed ideas from the implementation of a website to its design, analytics to development at the code level, and other things related to WooCommerce functionalities.

Event Schedule
The event was held on Tuesday, February 18 at Av Jose Larco 1232, Lima 15074, Peru. It’s a really exciting place and people simply loved coming there to attend the meetup.
Meetup Attendees
There was a slot for 70 Meetup attendees. And the best part is that 69 people attended the meetup which is awesome.
After-Party
Once the meetup was over, it was time for an after-party! Cloudways sponsored this with a Pizza treat for all attendees.
So these were the highlights of the WooCommerce Lima Meetup that I’ve mentioned above.
We did ask one of the organizers, Edgardo Tupiño, some questions to get an even deeper insight about the meetup.
Here’s what he had to say:
Cloudways: Hi Edgardo, Thanks for joining us today. Could you please tell us how your experience was in organizing the WooCommerce Lima meetup?
Hi Saud, thanks for the interview. For 2 years now I’ve been organizing the WooCommerce Meetup in Lima, and it’s not an easy task. But it’s really gratifying and I can see the growth of our community.
But the most important thing is to make the experience memorable for all the attendees.
Cloudways: What do the participants think about the meetup?
They’re mostly really happy with the meetup because they learn a lot about WooCommerce and even get the latest news. They also have this opportunity to network with like-minded people. They find partners and clients here. We have two types of people here; business people and developers, and it’s perfect for networking.
Cloudways: Does a local meetup help the WooCommerce community around the world?
We have support from Automattic. In fact, we have an official profile on meetup.com and they help us with souvenirs, topics, and even digital resources for the community. It’s very important because we have the opportunity to create a network with other developers or business managers who work with WooCommerce.
Cloudways: Is there anything else you would like to share?
Yes! The WooCommerce Meetup is perfect for those who want to share their experience with WooCommerce and different topics, like dev, business management, or marketing. It’s important to know that it’s free space for all members of the community. If the community grows, we grow together.
