Since we just love promoting our clients and their success stories on Cloudways, we have asked Erik, founder of Jacht Digital to talk to us about what his digital agency is all about.
Erik got on board through our Agency Partner Program and has been with us since. Let’s hear how Cloudways has helped him get success and the growth that he was expecting.
Moeez: Hello Erik, tell us a little bit about jacht.digital. How and when did you start? What are some of the projects that you are proud of?
Erik: We are jacht.digital, a digital marketing agency based at two locations in the Netherlands. Our key to success is helping our customers grow through their website by helping them integrate data-driven SEO and Google Ads strategies.
Dutch Crowd Security is a project to translate what our capabilities are: this company started in 2017 and has grown their business through their website by over 100 percent per year.
Moeez: You must build a lot of WordPress sites for your clients. Tell us something about your experience with WordPress and how important it is for your business?
Erik: I can still well remember the days when almost all developers disliked WordPress. Now, years later, WordPress has a role in almost every organization.
All of our web development projects run on WordPress. We do a lot of SEO consultancy work, even for customers who decide not to run their projects on WordPress. The frustration soon set in: “It would have been so much better if this project ran on WordPress.”
Moeez: What are some of the challenges that you have faced with running a WordPress business? How do you overcome these challenges?
Erik: My biggest frustrations with WordPress are the countless attacks that have wasted a lot of my time over the years.
In addition, I never looked forward to the moment when I had to move a website to another server. That never went without a struggle.
Another problem is performance. I never knew in advance which server would best suit a project because it is difficult to calculate in advance how many external plugins you need or how much traffic a web application would have.
Moeez: Why did you choose Cloudways? Describe your selection process and what criteria you were looking for. What made our solution stand out over others that you researched?
Erik: Really, I’ve tried them all: WPEngine, GoDaddy, Flywheel, Kinsta Also see wpengine alternative, and flywheel alternative.
None of them could compete with Cloudways. Why?
Cloudways is extremely flexible. It already starts with the choice of a server location. Then, the extensive options include backups, creating multiple staging environments, integration with Git, scalable servers.
All working parts are where they should be, and missing from the competition. The pricing model is also extremely flexible. You pay per hour, which is useful for performing tests without having to pay $ 30 per month.
You also just get full control over your servers. As a result, you do not have to continuously create emails or tickets because you want to change something in the .htaccess or wp-config.
Finally, the fantastic 24/7 service. The support is always ready to help. Even for non-server-related questions, they often know how to find a suitable solution.
Moeez: How long have you been with Cloudways? What sort of things does Cloudways help jacht.digital with?
Erik: We have been working with Cloudways for three years now. Thanks to Cloudways, we can now offer web hosting to our customers with 100 percent assurance, without being really specialists in that area. This has enabled us to generate a new, solid source of income where our customers are 100 percent satisfied.
Moeez: How did Cloudways help you resolve your problems? What do you think about the performance, speed, and security offered by Cloudways?
Erik: After extensive testing of hosting providers, we found that Cloudways has by far the fastest performance. Since we have been using Cloudways, we have full insight into the usage of the WordPress applications so that we can determine our prices much more precisely based on the use by our customers.
Moeez: It would be great if you can share some pictures (stats, performance, team, etc.).
Erik: Sure!
