When iTAG Technologies opened its doors in Dubai, the founding team had one clear purpose: help enterprises navigate digital infrastructure without losing speed or security. Today, the company is one of the UAE’s most respected IT system integrators.
iTAG Technologies covers the full spectrum of enterprise IT, from security consultancy and managed services to cloud strategy and data analytics, always treating client engagements as long-term partnerships where outcomes matter more than outputs.
As iTAG Technologies’ client base grew, so did the demands on its infrastructure. Managing multiple client environments and maintaining high uptime made finding the right hosting platform an operational necessity, not just a preference.
That search led iTAG Technologies to Cloudways. In this case study, Chief Technology Officer Aboobakker Moidutty shares the measurable improvements since switching and why Cloudways is the right fit for managed service providers in the UAE.
Cloudways: Can you introduce iTAG, describe what your business does today, and give us a sense of the scale you operate at?
Aboobakker Moidutty: iTAG Technologies was established in Dubai in 2010 and has since grown into a leading provider of IT managed services and cybersecurity solutions. We guide enterprises on infrastructure, security, and cloud strategy, supporting their digital transformation at every stage.
Our client portfolio spans hospitality, investment banking, healthcare, and digital agencies, each requiring tailored, scalable technology solutions built around their specific needs.

Cloudways: What hosting challenges were you facing before Cloudways, and how were those problems affecting iTAG’s day-to-day operations and client delivery?
Aboobakker Moidutty: Before moving to Cloudways, we ran into the same frustrations that plague most traditional and shared hosting setups. Load times regularly exceeded 3 seconds, which hurt both conversions and SEO performance.
Downtime during traffic surges was a recurring issue, with no real-time monitoring in place to catch problems early.
And on the operational side, our staff were spending weekends troubleshooting infrastructure, time that should have gone toward client work.
Cloudways: What drew you to Cloudways over other hosting providers, and what ultimately convinced you it was the right fit for iTAG?
Aboobakker Moidutty: The results spoke for themselves. Load times dropped from over 3 seconds to around 1.2 seconds, a 60 to 70 percent improvement. We’ve maintained 99.99% uptime since the move, with no downtime even during peak traffic periods.
Beyond performance, the centralized dashboard made backups, scaling, and staging far more manageable, freeing our team to focus on higher-value work rather than routine infrastructure tasks.

– Cloudways allows teams to handle application access, domain management, and security controls without switching between multiple tools or platforms.
Cloudways: How did the onboarding and migration experience go — and how did the Cloudways team support you through that process?
Aboobakker Moidutty: The migration was handled entirely by Cloudways, which meant we could move complex applications without drawing on our own internal resources.
Every site went through a staging phase first, where performance and compatibility were thoroughly checked before going live.
The staging-to-production workflow was particularly valuable. It kept the user experience completely uninterrupted during DNS cutover, which is exactly what our clients expect.
Cloudways: Since switching to Cloudways, what measurable improvements have you seen — whether in performance, uptime, cost, or team efficiency?
Aboobakker Moidutty: Cloudways has effectively become an extension of our technical team. We have access to 24/7 support for infrastructure questions, and their engineers have stepped in on complex server architecture challenges that would otherwise have required significant internal effort.
On the onboarding side, new iTAG staff get up to speed on the platform quickly. The interface is intuitive and the documentation is solid, which keeps our internal training time to a minimum.

Cloudways: How many servers and apps are you running on Cloudways, and are you using the Lightning stack, Hybrid stack, or both?
Aboobakker Moidutty: We’re currently running 2 servers on Cloudways, supporting a growing number of client applications across different environments.
In terms of stack, we use both Lightning and Hybrid, and that flexibility has been one of the more practical aspects of the platform. Lightning handles the performance-critical workloads where speed is the priority, while the Hybrid stack gives us more control where the architecture demands it.
Having both options available without needing to switch providers has simplified how we manage infrastructure across different client requirements.
Cloudways: As part of the Cloudways Agency Partner Program, how has it added value to iTAG’s managed services business?
Aboobakker Moidutty: The Agency Partner Program has added real, practical value to how we operate. Managing multiple client accounts comes with a lot of moving parts, and having priority support as a partner means we’re not left waiting when something critical needs attention.

– The Cloudways Agency Partner Program offers four tiers, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum, each with benefits including priority technical support, hosting credits, and more.
In the UAE market, client expectations around response times and service continuity are high, so that direct access to support has a direct impact on how reliably we deliver for our clients.
Beyond support, the program fits naturally into our managed services model, giving us a structured way to grow our hosting offering while maintaining the quality our clients expect.
Cloudways: What features or add-ons from Cloudways have iTAG considered most beneficial, and how do they measure up against those provided by other companies?
Aboobakker Moidutty: Three features stand out for us: one-click staging environments, SafeUpdates, and Cloudflare Enterprise CDN.
The staging environment alone has changed how we handle deployments. We can test changes in a controlled environment before they touch production, which is non-negotiable when you’re managing infrastructure for enterprise clients.
SafeUpdates adds another layer of confidence, automating the update process without introducing risk. And Cloudflare Enterprise CDN has made a measurable difference to how our clients’ applications perform across the region.

– Cloudways allows access to Cloudflare Enterprise features including fastest CDN, Managed WAF, DDoS protection, and more directly from the platform.
What sets these apart from other providers isn’t just that they exist. It’s that they work together within a single, coherent platform. Previously, we were stitching together third-party tools to get the same coverage. Cloudways brought it all under one roof, which reduced complexity and gave us better visibility across the board.
Cloudways: What advice would you give to other IT support or managed service providers in the UAE considering a move to Cloudways?
Aboobakker Moidutty: My advice is simple: don’t let infrastructure management become the thing that slows your business down. As an IT or managed service provider, your value to clients lies in strategy, security, and outcomes, not in spending weekends keeping servers running.
Cloudways gives you a SaaS-level automation layer that handles the hosting complexity so your team can focus on what actually matters. You don’t need a dedicated DevOps team just to maintain a stable, high-performing environment.
In the UAE market specifically, where client expectations are high and competition is growing, that operational efficiency isn’t a nice-to-have. It’s what keeps you ahead.
If you’re still on the fence, the platform speaks for itself. Start with a migration, measure the results, and the decision becomes obvious.
