The WooCommerce Mobile App recently received an update that added the option to create/edit products and manage orders directly from your mobile phone. While the app has been useful for many reasons, the new feature has become the main attraction of the app now.
Version 1.0 of the app was relaunched in 2019, and we are currently at version 5.6, and so today I will walk you through the WooCommerce mobile app to give you a closer look at the app itself as well as the newly added features.
So let’s start from the beginning.
To connect your WooCommerce store to the mobile app, you’ll need to install Jetpack and connect the site with the WordPress.com Calypso dashboard. After the connection is successful, you can open the WooCommerce app, log in with your WordPress.com account, and pick the store from the list of stores you manage. You will see the list of all your sites connected with Jetpack that have the WooCommerce plugin installed.
There are 4 navigation items in the WooCommerce app’s footer menu:
My store – The WooCommerce store statistic
Orders – Pending and Completed orders
Products – The list of products
Reviews – Product reviews
My Store
The My store section has four tabs to keep a check on how many orders you had Today, This Week, This Month, or This Year. You can even see the “Top Performers” and the “Best Selling Product“ for the day or other selected time span.

Orders
The Orders section has two tabs: Processing and All Orders. The Processing tab gives you insight about new orders and orders that are not marked completed yet. The All Orders tab, as suggested by the name, shows all the orders on your store regardless of their status.

From either tab, you can tap on the order and start fulfilling it. When the order is fulfilled, you can change the order’s status by tapping Mark Order Completed.

When there aren’t any orders pending, the Processing tab has an “All orders have been fulfilled” message. Likewise, in the All Orders tab, you will see that the order status has changed from Processing to Completed of the order you just fulfilled.

Products
The Products section shows you the list of products in your store. You can tap on any product and edit its information, change the photos, the price, and availability, etc.

You can also create a new product directly from the app without logging in to your site. This is by far the most helpful feature of the WooCommerce app.
For small shop owners that need to add unique items every time, this is a really handy feature. You can simply add the product with a few taps on your phone; take a photo, add the price, description, and publish your product on the go. This eliminates the need to haul your laptop everywhere you go even if you have to add a single product to your online shop.
You can create a Simple, Grouped, or External Product type in the app. Adding and managing Variable Products, however, is not yet available within the app.

Reviews
The Reviews section shows you all the reviews your customers have left and you can use the WooCommerce mobile app to reply to your customers as well. You can send a quick “thank you” or manage your complaints without your computer or your office.

I found the app quite useful and straightforward. There isn’t anything confusing and there’s just enough for the store owner or the store employees to manage their store while they don’t have access to their computers. Also, the interface on the app is pretty simple and easy to use, so it’s also less intimidating than the desktop website’s dashboard.
Conclusion
So there you go. That was a quick walkthrough of the WooCommerce mobile app, and since we carry our phones all the time, it is probably the most convenient thing for any WooCommerce store owner on the go!
