While the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic won’t allow an in-person event, the idea of a virtual WCEU is very intriguing. The three-day event will bring together WordPressers from not only the EU but from all over the world because of the online sessions and booths.
Our Thoughts on the Online Event
WordCamps are always a great deal mainly because of the opportunity to meet face-to-face with all those people who were just names on the screen. The idea of making new connections and renewing old ones has long been the central idea of WordCamps.
In a recent interview, Matt Mullenweg also weighed the pros and cons of the idea. According to him, if the virtual events could recreate the “in-person feel” of the WordCamps, they could really make the event accessible to more members of the community.
We liked the challenge of representing Cloudways in a virtual meetup and we sat down to come up with exciting activities for engaging the visitors and the attendees.
After several brainstorming sessions, we decided that there were simply too many good ideas and our virtual booth should have several activities that best showcase our brand and the people behind it.
So we invite you all to visit our booth at WCEU where we have planned several activities and sessions for you.
Meet the Mavericks
This year, you will be welcomed to our virtual booth by Cloudways Mavericks, who will be there to answer all your Cloudways related questions.
Our Mavericks program is all about the communities and users that depend upon Cloudways for their hosting needs. Our Mavericks come from all backgrounds and you will find that they have refreshing (and often very candid) views on how Cloudways could best serve your business hosting requirements.
The Quiz
Everyone loves a good quiz, and this year, we decided to challenge you with a serious lineup of questions. Yes, the quiz is about WordPress, and No, the questions are not a walk-in-the-park (well some of them are, but you have to find out for yourself :))
Now, this is not your run-of-the-mill carnival quiz either. The first question is easy and as you move up, the questions get harder. Of course, the prizes also get better as the questions get harder.
We cannot say what the prizes would be but can confirm that there would be cool Cloudways Swag and gift cards!
We invite you to join our virtual booth at WCEU and take part in the quiz and find out the prizes for yourself.
Some Ground Rules
The first person to answer in the Zoom chat wins.
One Person – One Prize
You will receive your prize via email by earliest June 10, 2020
AMA With Aaqib Gadit
Just like the previous events, Aaqib Gadit, the Cloudways Cofounder will be there to answer all your questions. Given the opportunity of the virtual event, we decided to opt for an AMA style session, where you could ask your questions, and Aaqib would answer them.
This is your opportunity to get to know the official Cloudways view about our business, our commitment to our users, and how we are battling to provide the same level of services that our users love.
Leave your questions in the comment section below and Aaqib would answer them during the event.
Here’s How You Can Join Our WCEU 2020 Virtual Booth
As soon as the event goes live, the link to our official booth will be updated at our WCEU sponsorship page. The booth will be available on June 5, between 2:10 PM – 2:50 PM UTC.
Dedicated Cloudways Room
We also have a dedicated Zoom-powered Cloudways room where you can connect with our Mavericks and other members of the Team Cloudways to discuss your thoughts and ideas.
This room would also host a live event where our Mavericks would review the UI/UX of the websites submitted by the attendees.
All attendees can join our Virtual Booth here: WordCamp Europe 2020 Cloudways

Join the room at the following time and submit your website to Cloudways Mavericks who would then review it live in the room.

Wrapping It Up!
WCEU will be held on June 4-6, 2020 and the WordPress community is looking forward to it. In this eighth installment of the event, we expect to see a much broader audience and thus more opportunities to connect with WordPress developers, users, and publishers who would attend the event from their homes and offices.
We have lined up some great activities for the visitors and are looking forward to welcoming you to the (virtual) WCEU 2020!
