A Cloudways tutorial on the Vulnerability Scanner (powered by Patchstack), which monitors your WordPress core, plugins, and themes for known vulnerabilities and recommends fixes in real time.

✨ What you’ll learn
✦ Why known, unpatched vulnerabilities are behind a large share of cyberattacks.
✦ How to activate the Vulnerability Scanner from the Application Security dropdown.
✦ How to read the Secure and Insecure status for each core, plugin, and theme component.
✦ How to open the full Patchstack report and apply recommended fixes.

Did you know that over 60% of cyberattacks exploit known vulnerabilities that could have been patched before hackers struck? At Cloudways, simplifying web hosting and securing WordPress sites is at the heart of what we do. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Patchstack to bring you the Vulnerability Scanner, a powerful tool that monitors your WordPress core, themes, and plugins for known vulnerabilities. It scans your application in real time, alerts you instantly, and provides actionable fixes so you can secure vulnerabilities before attackers take advantage of them. In this video, we’ll show you how to activate and use the Vulnerability Scanner, which can help you stay one step ahead of threats. Let’s get started.

Log in to your Cloudways account. Click My Applications. Find the application you want to protect. This will open the Application Management page. Click on the Application Security dropdown. Here, select the Vulnerability Scanner option. You’ll now see all your core, plugin, and theme components listed. The scanner automatically checks your application for vulnerabilities. Secure means no known vulnerabilities. Insecure items come with recommendations for fixes. Click View Details to access the full vulnerability report provided by Patchstack for that specific item.

And that’s it. Finding and fixing vulnerabilities is now simple and fast with Cloudways. See you in the next tutorial.
