What You’ll Be Doing:
Create and deliver best practices and recommendations to develop highly scalable and available cloud-based systems that serve millions of internet and mobile-facing applications
Lead requirements gathering, analysis, and solution development for GCP/GKE cloud-based solutions
Architect, design, and implement systems for deploying complex application workloads on GCP in Kubernetes and GKE
Architect highly available solutions with backup and disaster recovery
Partner with project teams, functional architects, systems specialists, and other technical resources
Lead a project in a hands-on role driving GCP cloud development, design, and delivery from inception to production
Mentor and provide technical oversight and guidance to implementation teams while working in a coordinated manner to deliver and deploy the designed architecture
Collects and defines technical requirements to enable business processes and integrations
Establish governance and enforce quality standards for cloud software and infrastructure architectures (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS)
Review and evaluate existing systems architectures and software products to identify cloud platforming and refactoring opportunities
Work closely with leadership and stakeholders to gather technical requirements, architect solutions, and drive high-priority customer initiatives
Provide Cloud/GCP thought leadership to the engineering teams by mentoring and coaching engineers, administrators, and developers to ensure that architecture and requirements best practices are followed
Maintain clear documentation and standards for cloud operations in the organization
Stay up to date on emerging technology trends and promote an environment of learning
Responsible for monitoring the production environment and also advancing the obtainable monitoring setup as needed
Performs other relevant job duties as required
Job Specification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline desired, or relevant Cloud Operations Engineering work experience.
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline desired, or relevant Cloud Operations Engineering work experience is preferred.
Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Architect or experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – Preferred
Overall 8+ years of experience in the development role out of which 5+ years of experience must be as an enterprise systems architect in a cloud computing environment – GCP preferred
Experience in cloud computing (e.g., applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, data), as well as cloud market and competitive dynamics.
Experience leading and designing large-scale network implementations to GCP (i.e. Google Cloud Load Balancing, DNS, CDN, Storage, DR, Security, Monitoring, etc.)
Experience with establishing technical strategy and architecture of highly scalable cloud-based systems
Experience in designing scalable solutions including high availability, redundancy, fail-over, and load balancing
Strong expertise in GCP services (i.e. Cloud Services Platform, Google Kubernetes Engine, Compute Engine, Cloud Interconnect)
Experience leading GCP Cloud project delivery, i.e. responsible for:
Project deliverables
Technical and architecture design, implementation, and oversight
Project delivery approach
Delivery performance – working with delivery and PM teams
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, technical mentoring, and leadership skills
Experience leading and working with diverse geographically distributed teams
