Read on to know what Kurilov has to say about all these things.
Hello Valery, thanks for taking out time for this interview. Let’s kick off the interview .
Cloudways: Hello, Valery! I am excited to conduct this interview, thank you for taking out the time. Could you please tell our readers a bit about yourself and your career?
Valery: I love IT and I have been working in this industry for over 15 years now. I have a degree in applied computer science. When I’m not working I spend time with my family. My wife and our two daughters – we love to travel and explore new places.
Cloudways: What inspired you to create SE Ranking Tool and how is it different from the other tools in the market?
Valery: SE Ranking has been developed by our SEO team as an in-house SEO solution. It performed so well we’ve got requests to scale it out to the outside projects. Eventually it grew to an SEO platform with a handful of useful tools for marketers, SEO specialists and agencies and we are continuing to innovate to accommodate growing needs of modern users.
What makes us different is the fact that we offer really awesome and innovative tools all on the same platform. No need to switch between systems and interfaces. A convenient, powerful, digging deep solution that saves money but does the things done. All SEO tools we have are having a special additional value in them. Like Google suggestions in keyword research. And we guarantee 100% accuracy of our keyword rank tracking. Plus we have features like Page changes monitoring that you won’t find on any other SEO platform. Our platform offers over 35 tools. Among them are tools specifically developed for agencies – such as White Label or Lead generator.
Cloudways: In your view what updates of Google search engine were most useful/ important in 2017?
Valery: Google started paying much more attention to ranking visual content which is logical since the content moved to platforms like youtube and people prefer to watch rather then read the info.
Also, Google is moving over to mobile and we are seeing more and more AMP pages in search results. I personally find this publishing technology to be a very useful and prefer to read the content that marked as such.
Cloudways: What new Google Search Engine algorithm updates you expect to see in 2018?
Valery: As I’ve mentioned above the main changes will be related to mobile ranking. Google already made it official that sites that load slowly will lose their positions. So everyone who wants to be in the game are busy working on their on-site server optimization. I recommend to use our Website Audit which will uncover the majority of errors as well as the loading speed as one of the checking parameters is a website speed. For the projects with large volume of traffic I highly recommend to connect CDN.
Cloudways: How important will content be in 2018, Will content still be the king as they say?
Valery: Yes, of course – content is the king because it’s a vehicle that conveys the information and info is what drives rankings. The other question is what kind and type of a content. As I’ve mentioned above, visual content becomes more and more valuable so content marketing has to accommodate this preference big time.
I also feel that online content became very saturated with rewrites, stolen ideas and articles about nothing. Which makes practical and truly expert content so much valuable. My advice would be to always stay true to yourself, your product and the value it brings to the word while conveying the message in the practical and concise manner.
Cloudways: what would be the role of voice search in 2018, do you think voice searches have the potential to be a game changer? What is SE Ranking doing in domain of voice search?
Valery: The trend is definitely growing although there is no clear data to define how dynamically it grows. ComScore predicts that by 2020 half of all searches will be voice-based. I don’t think it’s going to be a game changer right in 2018 but it is good to be prepared for this kind of revolution.
Cloudways: As the world of SEO is transforming continuously since its inception, what do you think future holds for search engine optimization, i.e What’s next for SEO?
Valery: As it’s been predicted by bright minds of the past, the information moves to mobile – so much as it’s predicted that pretty soon mobile and desktop index will be combined together with mobile version of the page being crawled first. Actually, very soon your mobile page will be crawled – not the desktop version. So search engine optimization for mobile is not only important – it’s a necessity for those who wants to be in the game in the future.
Cloudways: How will 2018 be for search engine optimizers in particular, what advice do you have for new SEO’s?
Valery: Personalization becomes a necessity in everything including how it’s now seen and what weight it’s given to by search engine. This makes it hard to predict how you will be ranked. However, if you deliver to your visitors a highly personalized content relevant and engaging at the same time your chances to become Google’s favorite will dramatically increase. Add visualization, localization and mobile-first approach and you’ve got a pretty good recipe for success. By the way, we at SE Ranking pride ourselves of offering 100% accurate keyword rank tracking for all locations and devices.
Cloudways: I always ask my interviewees to share some pictures of their workstation. I would appreciate if you could show us how you keep your workplace.
Valery: Here you go.
Cloudways: What is that one thing you like about our Managed Cloud Hosting Platform and why would you recommend it to others?
Valery: I like how you can get your cloud server up and running within minutes. As a person that’s been developing businesses for over a decade now – speed and timing is everything so I am always very impressed when i can get things done fast, effectively and efficiently.
Cloudways: Let us talk about when you were seven or eight. Who did you want to be?
Valery: When I was 8 years old my parents bought me my very first computer. I did not like the present at first but then fell in love with computers and everything around them. Pretty soon I knew for sure that computer science and technologies will be my profession. I’m very happy that my childhood dream became a reality and I do what what I love.
