Chris and Jude created Ready Steady Websites® to help entrepreneurs make websites in a whole lot easier way. They have worked with many businesses over the last 18 years. They have been more focused on providing help to entrepreneurs and solopreneurs over the last 4 years after realizing that there was a big divide between a completely do it yourself website and a custom web agency built website. Along the way, they met many people who wanted to invest in a really professional, fast, and impactful website, but these people didn’t have the budget to get a custom website. Moreover, the standard off-the-shelf services didn’t give these people the professional design they needed. This was when Chris and Jude started Ready Steady Websites®.

Cloudways: Tell us about yourself. What is your designation at the agency? What are your core responsibilities?

Chris Wharton: I am working in the capacity of Co-founder. I am also responsible for design, development and support.

Cloudways: What services does your agency provide and how many clients do you currently have? Please tell us a bit about your agency here, like which capacity do you operate in, your team size, your market, and your USP.

Chris Wharton: We have two parts to our company. Our main offering is Ready Steady Websites® which is an off-the-shelf website and membership template service on top of WordPress. It’s like a website or membership site in a box really, designed to help entrepreneurs and small businesses get up and running quickly with a professional looking website but having us there the whole time for support and to take away any tech headaches. The other part of our company is 2nd Floor Designs ltd where we offer branding and logo design, custom website, and membership site builds on WordPress.

Cloudways: How did you first hear about Cloudways? Name one major problem that you were facing that made you switch to Cloudways. Something that was the tipping point, and how Cloudways fixed that for you.?

Chris Wharton: We heard about Cloudways on recommendation from a number of different people in our industry. Our main issue was speed of deployment and reliable support. The way our template service works, we need to be able to clone sites, configure them quickly, move them from development to live and Cloudways just makes that seamless. We also have very granular control over resources and can scale services up really easily to match demand. Cloudways: Before Cloudways, which hosting solution did you use? Are you using any other hosting service currently? If “Yes” Why?

Chris Wharton:We’d tried many, WP Engine, Siteground, TSO, Heart Internet, 20i, Media Temple. We’re not using anything apart from Cloudways now.

Cloudways: What was your experience with Cloudways when you first signed up? Please tell us about first impressions.

Chris Wharton: It’s just so easy to use and the support is magnificent.

Cloudways: In your opinion, what sets us apart from other hosting providers? How has our in-built support for Php-based apps such as WordPress, Laravel, and Magento made matters easier for you?

Chris Wharton: In terms of what sets Cloudways apart, first and foremost it’s ease of use: Easy cloning, Easy scaling. Second to that it’s support, technical queries are always answered within minutes and I’ve never left a support conversation in any other mood but happy.
