The Serpstat Tools

Keyword Research

Besides the regular keyword selection, Serpstat offers 8 additional features and metrics:

  • Search suggestions are common keywords Google suggests as you start typing your search query. It helps you find long-tail keywords to expand your keyword list, which makes content on your pages look more natural and helps you avoid keyword stuffing.
  • Search questions are search suggestions in interrogative form. These questions may help you find a lot of content ideas (blog posts, FAQ pages, Q&A, infographics).
  • Related keywords are LSI keywords that also help you to expand your keyword list and optimize a single page for multiple keywords.
  • Keyword intent metric shows which special elements (maps, shopping, answers, listings) are shown for your keyword in SERP. This feature helps you understand the intent of your keywords (is it transactional, navigational, or informational). You can also filter results by the type of special element included. It’s also a useful feature when it comes to Local SEO.

  • Keyword difficulty metric shows how hard it would be to rank in top-10 for the desired keyword. This one helps you to understand if the keyword is worth spending time and resources. If the KD is higher than 60%, it may take too long to get in the top for this keyword, so you have to think twice before embarking on optimization. This feature is helpful for planning and building strategies.
  • Keyword clustering feature helps you make sense of a large keyword list. It groups your keywords by meaning in a matter of minutes. It helps you analyze a set of keywords automatically, collect right keywords for specific pages, and create site’s SEO architecture.
  • Competitive keyword research gives you an opportunity to compare your site to your competitors’ sites side-by-side. This feature helps you find keywords you’ve missed, while your competitors are getting traffic for these keywords.

  • PPC keyword research feature finds paid search queries related to your primary keyword along with ads displayed for them. Thus, you can find keywords for your PPC campaign and analyze your competitors’ ads and keywords as well.

Rank Tracking

The rank tracking tool makes it easier to monitor your site’s positions in SERP for a chosen keywords.

To launch monitoring, you should create a project, specify the region and database, and add the keywords for monitoring. Additionally, the tool suggests the list of the most suitable keywords automatically.

In the “Competitors” tab, you can see how much traffic your competitors occur. This feature helps you analyze traffic share in your niche.

What is the most interesting, Serpstat offers a unique opportunity to monitor positions of your top-100 competitors in one project, without spending additional limits. It’s much easier to use API for large projects.

You can also assign tags to certain groups of keywords and be aware of every drop and rise by chosen keywords. It’s helpful if you make some changes to content on your website and want to monitor the results.

Also, the tool provides both mobile and desktop search ranking data.

Site Audit

The service makes a complete audit of the site. Let’s go through the Serpstat’s audit checklist:

  • HTTP status code (4xx, 5xx);
  • Meta tags and headings issues(duplicates, missing tags, wrong length, etc.);
  • Accessibility and Indexation (canonical errors; flash elements; iframes; disallowed pages in robots.txt, ‘noindex’ tag issues);
