Hewitt Matthews was created when college friends Carl Hewitt and Reece Matthews teamed up to offer fully-integrated paid media and web services to businesses around the world.

Cloudways: What does your agency do?

Carl: Hewitt Matthews is a paid media and web agency. We work with clients to help them create high converting websites, and then we drive highly relevant traffic and leads through those sites using paid advertising.

As part of our web services, we offer hosting to all of our clients. The majority of our clients receive ongoing website support as well, so we can ensure we can offer a helping hand or further develop their website.

Cloudways: How did you first hear about Cloudways, and what made you switch to it?

Carl: I first heard about Cloudways from my co-founder, Reece Matthews, who is a developer at heart. He had been a huge advocate for Cloudways since day one.

Cloudways: Before Cloudways, which hosting solution did you use? Are you using any other hosting service currently?

Carl: Before Cloudways, we used Siteground, but now? No. Cloudways all the way for us!

Cloudways: What was your experience with Cloudways when you first signed up?

Carl: It was great, to be honest. The support is absolutely second to none and the setup was painless. We were guided throughout the process and didn’t have to waste any time growing our offerings through Cloudways.

Cloudways: How has Cloudways contributed to the success of your agency?

Carl: It’s been 100% positive. The various options available mean we can service a much wider range of clients, which opens the door to a number of extra revenue streams for us. That has been a huge boost.

Also, the level of support we get from Cloudways means we don’t need to rely on a dedicated in-house resource, which saves us a lot of capital and time.

Cloudways: Out of the five cloud providers available on Cloudways, which one(s) do you prefer to use and why?

Carl: We tend to use either Digital Ocean or Vultr, depending on our clients’ demands. However, we’re also looking to work closely with Google Cloud or AWS soon for larger client projects.

Cloudways: How do you use Cloudways to solve your clients’ problem(s)?

Carl: This is a tough one to answer, but I think it primarily comes down to the intuitive GUI and support that is readily available to solve any complex server-related issues.

Cloudways: How do you resell Cloudways to your clients?

Carl: We offer Cloudways as a managed hosting service.

Cloudways: Do you think that by switching to Cloudways, you could free up resources at your end? If yes, how were you able to utilize those?

Carl: Yes. Using Cloudways takes a lot less time in terms of internal management. We know that there is always someone monitoring uptime and that support will be on the case ASAP should there be an issue. All of this frees up valuable time for our senior management team and developers.

Cloudways: How do you feel about being one of the members of the Cloudways Agency Partnership Program? What additional value does the program provide to you? Do you think this program is going to help your agency grow in the long run?
