Taking backups of your website is all the more important. Whenever you are going to tweak your website and server settings, remember to take the backup at the first instant. Moreover, in the Cloud Console, you can set the frequency of the automatic backups. By default, it is set for daily backups.
But, what about backup restore? Sometimes a need arises to check the code of older versions of the website.
At Cloudways, we always think about simplifying the lives of our users. This is why we have have implemented Point-in-Time Restore (PITR).
What Is Point-in-Time Restore?
One of the most important aspects of backup procedure is point-in-time restore (PITR). The context of point-in-time recovery relates to the restoration of data from a defined time period in the past.
This means you can easily take backups, restore, and recover the database to a prior state. The PITR is really an incredible feature.
This feature is meant to facilitate you in restoring your websites from a range of recently created backups. Consider a situation here: What if you decide to tweak your website’s settings, and accidentally something strange happens and you lost your website. Well, you can be at a loss if you do not have backups. Such is not the case with Cloudways.
With this feature, you can easily take and restore a backup of your website. It provides you with the option to restore previous backups taken during the previous 7 days.
This provides developers and designers the ease of going back in time especially on their testing sites.
The best part is that it is readily available on the Cloud Console. Just navigate to the “Application Management” tab and go to the “Restore” section. From there, you can start the recovery process. It’s all one-click!
Do you think we are missing a feature in Cloudways? Tell us about it on the Feedback page or in the Comments section below.
