Recently CSO Executive Seminar Series on Securing the Cloud has taken place in Santa Clara, California. The leading security specialists took part in it to debate the future of cloud computing, the questions of cloud and security, and the ways of cloud security breaches closing.
One of the seminar speakers Dan Reis, Trend Micro’s director of U.S. product marketing, outlined the main requirements for cloud security. First of all, it is necessary to use strong methods of data encryption to secure clouds and users should have an opportunity to manage encryption keys. Moreover Reis offers to implement authentication as a basic element of cloud security. To minimize the risk cloud delivery services need to be audited, alerted and controlled.
Nevertheless in cloud computing security, there are still many points to worry about. For example, many users want to have multiple choices of security solutions. They also wonder who except them can have an access to the encryption keys and to their data stored in clouds and whether the existing security methods are really reliable.
It is still much to be done, but the companies providing managed cloud services have already moved far forward in protecting their customers’ clouds. To defend users’ private data, they offer professional support and use security technologies of high quality to protect sensitive information from being compromised by the third party or malware.
