Recently Apple has announced launching of iCloud. The service is aimed to facilitate work with Apple devices and will become mass available only in autumn. As many other companies like Google, Microsoft, Dropbox, Amazon and ElasticHosts, the new cloud service provider Apple is going to offer its customers an opportunity to use clouds for data storage, sharing and synchronization.
The popularity of personal clouds is growing every day and it will not be wise to reject using it for enterprises. It is obvious that employees want to have the same communication and collaboration tools for business purpose as they used to have outside the workplace. That’s why company management should develop the strategy of new technologies implementation.
However, the employees’ wishes are not the only reason for using business cloud computing. Avoidance of new technologies usage can lead to bad consequences. First of all it will undermine the credibility of IT management within the enterprise. Moreover the limitations will not prevent the use of cloud services, because the employees will start to bypass the rules imposed by management.
Apple is famous for its qualitative products and iCloud also promises to be reliable from the security point of view that makes it suitable for enterprise usage. Nevertheless every business cloud has to be protected complementary. If the company management can’t provide necessary support and defense, it would be a good idea to use professional services.
