Wetail soon grew from one founder to six stakeholders, each expert in various operational areas. The company started growing exponentially, and in 2017, it reached its first milestone – getting funded by the VC firm, Wellstreet.se.
But Everything was Not Rosy
Soon after, Pierre and the co-founders started to experience growth pains.
A few clients started complaining that their websites and stores were taking too long to load. Some even wanted Wetail to switch hosting because the current (slow) host was becoming a major bottleneck in their operations.
The situation was alarming…
“One major hurdle was speed. We also host our clients, we needed faster speed to manage their stores. But the previous hosting service wasn’t offering any solution for that,” Pierre says, “we didn’t have time to focus on servers, and that’s why we needed a managed host.”
So, the agency started searching for alternates. Pierre asked his partners for recommendations, and one partner recommended Cloudways.
After a little research about the features and reading the reviews of the Cloudways customers, the Wetail founder decided to try out the service first hand. “We moved our first client as a pilot test,” he says.
And It Worked!

After hassle-free migrations of the clients’ websites, the Wetail team saw huge improvements in performance.
Pierre and his team are completely satisfied with the service. For him and the team, the biggest win is being able to push the Cloudways API beyond limits, and tweak it as per the requirements of their clients needs.
“We have high requirements and we move fast with new features. This can become an issue during the development, but we are pushing the limits on what the Cloudways API allows us to do,” he said.
And the best part?
They can migrate their clients in just a few hours. This was certainly not possible with their previous host.
“Yes, Cloudways allowed us to grow FAST. We can have a new client migrated in a few hours due to the easy signup process,” Pierre said about the Cloudways migration service.
