WordPress has been around for almost 13 years and it shows no signs of its age. In fact, it continues to dominate the CMS market despite many challenges from newer CMS’s.
Given this, it is no surprise that WordPress powers a number of business websites and blogs in Canada. The robust and very customizable CMS means that it could cater to all the uniquely Canadian requirements for business portals and blogs.
Canada is home to a very vibrant WordPress community that comprises of developers and enthusiasts. Creating a list of Canadian WordPress influencers was not easy. There are so many heavyweights that mentor and inspire the community.

Tom is a senior partner in Zeitguys Inc, a full-service multimedia, design, and marketing company. Previously, he was the faculty member of Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning.
2. Chris O’ Connor
Chris is the author of WordPress For All, a popular book that almost every WordPress enthusiast has read. He also teaches WordPress through online tutorials and courses (available at Udemy). Chris has been working with WordPress since its introduction back in 2003. He has been commercially developing websites since the mid 90’s.
3. Daniel McClure
Daniel is a professional digital marketer, marketing technologist and an entrepreneur. He is the founder of The Modern Entrepreneur, a firm that specializes in creating marketing plugins for WordPress. Daniel’s clientele includes names such as PayPal. Apart from being proficient in WordPress, he is a BitCoin Advocate and Plugin developer at BitMate.
4. Sandra De Freitas
Sandra likes to be called a “Tech Coach”. She is a WordPress addict and the author of “Does This Blogsite Make My Wallet Look Fat?. She has important roles at websites including WordPressblogsites.com and TechCoachforCoaches.com. Sandra was the co-host and co-creator of M Word Conference and is a certified WishList member.

Jill is the owner of LuciousLime.com, a website dedicated to helping WordPressers. She is proficient in WordPress website customization, online social marketing, and website management. She also has a number of web courses to her credit such as Business Computer Applications, Marketing Foundations, Financial Information for Marketing etc.
6. Ruud Hein
Ruud is a WordPress geek and a senior web publisher. He currently works at Search Engine People as a senior SEO and Editor. He is the CEO of Ruud Hein Web Development, a WordPress focused business that offers code modification, branding, content creation etc. Other than WordPress, he likes Google Analytics, blogging, social media marketing etc.

Ron wants to be known as a semi-retired WordPress developer who has amassed huge development experience. He was the contributing developer for WordPress. Ursula is a WordPress enthusiast, blogger, and designer. She likes to be known as “The WP Girl” because of her 15+ years of experience. Brad is also a frontend developer with 15+ years of experience in UI/UX design. Other than WordPress, Brad’s interests include jQuery, PHP, HTML5 etc.
