“All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy”. So goes the proverb. Developers Paradise 2016 was the perfect balance between work and fun. Attendees from 30 different countries had a lot to do at the conference! And there was much learning at the same time.

Held between 25th to 28th April in Opatija, Croatia, the attendees stayed at the 4 Opatijska Cvijeta hotel, surrounded by scenic natural beauty of green hills and pristine blue water of the Adriatic Sea. The official Meet Magento Association event was a big hit this time as well.

On behalf of Cloudways, CTO Pere Hospital was in attendance. Excitement about Dev Paradise was built up when people updated their inbound journeys on Twitter using hashtags.

Another special feature of this conference was that a couple of core team members of Magento 2 were also attending. Dev Paradise was a chance to soak in the feedback of the community, and the Magento 2 core team did just that. We hope that the Magento 2 product will be better off for it.

Lets recap some of the awesome stuff that happened at Developer’s Paradise 2016.

Hackathon and Workshop

Before things got underway officially, Damian Luszczymak organized a hackathon. This activity helped to test the limits and possibilities of the Magento 2 Platform. Groups of developers were divided into teams and assigned to work on different technical aspects of the Magento 2 Platform.

This was followed by a workshop for the early birds of the Magento community (since the event hadn’t even begun officially!)

Fun in the sun!

Well, despite the elusive sun, attendees had a lot of fun anyway. Monday was for dancing and music. Many people from the community met and interacted for the first time on this day.

Busy Tuesday

Tuesday began with a Mage Run in the morning. Woohoo! Who wouldn’t like to take in the sights of beautiful Opatija on a pretty morning. The energy levels were maintained throughout the rest of the day full of useful presentations on a wide range of Magento 2 topics.

After dinner, the party began again 😀

Wonderful Wednesday

Back to Magento 2! This day was again full of the wisdom of Magento 2 experts. Many talks were presented by talented speakers. Don’t miss out and learn from their talks, it will benefit your Magento 2 knowledge immensely.

Farewell Thursday

A final Mage Run was conducted. Attendees said their goodbyes, exchanged contact details and returned to their countries, smarter than before and cherishing memories of a great conference which was fun socially and useful professionally. Pere will cheer to that!

See you next time at the Developer’s Paradise! 🙂
