1- How long does it take for a plan to activate?

 It varies from plan to plan. Simpler plans can take less than an hour¸ and complex ones can take anywhere from 4 to 24 hours.

2- Why do you need my Amazon or ElasticHosts account credentials?

In order to give you better control over your infrastructure¸ we configure all instances of a plan right in your own Amazon or ElasticHosts cloud account. So you always remain in total control of your network. We need your credentials to login to your account and setup the plan you have ordered with CloudWays. We also need your credentials so we can access the instances when dealing with your support queries and when we perform routine maintenance.

3- What´s the ´Pricing Calculator´ - What´s it for?

We have explicitly mentioned our fixed managed service hourly cost for all plans at CloudWays. What varies from plan to plan¸ and even within one plans¸ is the relevant hardware infrastructure cost. Our ´Pricing Calculator´ fills that void. It estimates the hardware infrastructure costs for your relevant plan. It´s interactive¸ i.e. you can enter various inputs against instances to match your system requirements and see what costs you would incur. The ´Pricing Calculator´ is aimed at advanced level users¸ beginners should follow the default values and ask for estimates.

4- Can I use an infrastructure provider other than AmazonEC2 or ElasticHosts?

Currently we only work with Amazon EC2 and ElasticHosts. We have researched and developed a sound understanding of the underlying network of these two providers. Thanks to our years of experience, we know exactly where the pit holes lie and how to avoid them. In time we will research and add more infrastructure providers, so if you think we should prioritize some other provider, please contact us.

6- How does CloudWays work?

There is a detailed explanation provided on our home page, www.CloudWays.com. Summarizing, CloudWays erects your infrastructure in the cloud, whether you are a start-up or looking to migrate your existing regular server infrastructure to the cloud. CloudWays works with world famous cloud infrastructure providers, namely Amazon EC2 and ElasticHosts, in such a way that you always remain in total control of your infrastructure whilst we manage it transparently for you.

Payment issues and Policies

 

1- Do you offer refunds?

Refunds are offered. Please refer to our refund policy for more information.

2- How do I request cancellation?

The cancellation process is very simple and straightforward. Login to your member area and go to Services --> My Services. Locate the service you wish to cancel and execute the Cancellation action next to it. Make sure to check Remove Credentials if you are canceling all your active services with CloudWays. This will also remove your Amazon/ElasticHosts credentials from our database.

3- I have made a payment but the service is still PENDING. Is there something else I should do?

No further action is required from your end. As soon as you make the payment we start the verification process (as described in the relevant FAQ above). Once payment is verified the order is forwarded to our technical department for processing. Processing time varies from plan to plan (depending on complexity) and until the processing completes the status of your service shows as PENDING. Once is processed¸ the status changes to ACTIVE and the funds for managed service will start being deducted on an hourly basis.

4- What is payment verification? How long does it take?

Unfortunately¸ the online commerce world is full of fraud. So¸ when you sign up for the first time we might call you or ask for credit card verification¸ or do both. This process starts as soon as the order is received¸ and it concludes as soon as we hear back from you.

5- How does the payment work?

A CloudWays plan is based on two things: a) hardware infrastructure and b) setup and management; and so does the payment. For Hardware Infrastructure you pay to Amazon or ElasticHosts (as per your choice) from their respective websites¸ and for Setup and Management you pay to CloudWays from your members’ area.

6- If my service is running low on funds¸ will you notify me?

 

Yes¸ we send 3 notifications over time. The first reminder is sent 7 days before the funds run out¸ the second reminder is sent 3 days before¸ and the third and final reminder is sent 24 hours ahead of funds exhaustion.

You can simply login to your members area and extend your plan by 1¸3¸6 or 12 months¸ depending on your needs¸ to avoid service interruption.

7- How are funds deducted?

When you purchase a plan you put prepaid funds to activate that plan. Funds are deducated only when service status is ACTIVE. No funds are deducted while your service is still in PENDING status. (or processing phase)

8- How are taxes charged?

Standard 18% VAT is charged to all European companies.
