This is Dolly, the world’s first cloned sheep.
Her “birth” was a result of years of extensive research study in DNA. Yes, cloning is hard unless you are on Cloudways.
We like to keep things simple and short. This is why we launched server and application cloning in quick successions once the Cloud Platform went public. We knew these would become popular among all the features of Cloudways and we weren’t wrong. Everyday, we see developers and designers creating exact copies of their successful web projects for reasons best known to them.
However, our app cloning feature was very basic where you could create copies on the same server.
Well, we have removed this limitation. From today onwards, you will be able to clone apps across servers. You can also place a cloned app on a server of its own.
How is this useful?
It comes handy for web agencies that are running several websites across many cloud servers. Whenever a certain need arises, they can “copy and paste” their way out between two servers.
For example, you have 5 websites on a server and you want test some elements of the fifth website. What would you do? Previously, you had to clone the entire server or create a copy on the same server. Now, you can just clone the desired app to your testing server and start your work. When you are done with testing, you can either delete the app or move it to your production server using the same App Cloning tool. Yes, it is as easy as you just read.
