In our previous interview with Aaron Lee Wei Ren, we learned that WordPress is becoming a giant in publishing, and businesses of all shapes and sizes are embracing it for not only for content management but to optimize their overall business processing and experience.

To get more insights and expert advice on how WordPress is an important tool for business, today I am honored to interview one of my amazing friends and aspiring entrepreneur  Mr. Chris Reimer.

Chris Reimer (@RizzoTees) is currently working as Vice President for Social Media at a digital agency known as Falk Harrison. Chris advises on social media strategy, new business development, and content management for the agency’s website and social media properties.

He was a graduate from Marquette University in 1993 with a B.S. in Accounting, became a CPA in 1995, and then served as Chief Financial Officer of several organizations. He also owns a popular T-shirt business named as RizzoTees as his entrepreneurial venture.

Lets dive into the interview and learn what Chris has to say about his experience on WordPress.

Cloudways: Why do you think so many businesses are turning to WordPress as software to run their company?

Chris Reimer: WordPress sites are easy to build, easy to expand and easy to alter via plug-ins. The platform is becoming more ubiquitous by the day. They employ a backend that most of us are familiar with, and if you need help tweaking your site, it’s very easy to find help.

Cloudways: Do you think businesses are finding WordPress easier to use than other CMS’s that you have used in the past?

Chris Reimer: People may think that WordPress is the easiest, but I’m not sure that’s why they are choosing the platform. I don’t have much experience with Drupal or other popular platforms, but when we talk to clients, we tell them that WordPress is easy to build, easy to expand, and easy to fix.

Cloudways: How do you see WordPress being used by bigger companies in the future?

Chris Reimer: It is possible that larger companies will not be afraid to build their huge corporate websites in WordPress. Alternatively, I could see some of them creating microsites using WordPress, or dropping a WordPress blog into a subdomain of their site so that their blogging team can use a blogging platform they’re comfortable with.

Cloudways: How important is it for businesses to consider investing in reputable hosting for WordPress?

Chris Reimer: No matter what kind of site you have, get reliable, scalable hosting with excellent customer service.

Cloudways: What WordPress plugins do you personally use or recommend?

Chris Reimer: I like Yoast, Mailchimp, Disqus, Google Analytics, Akismet, and WordPress SEO. I don’t like to run too many plug-ins. I like keeping things simple and I like a fast-loading site.
